Description:
Philadelphia & New York: J. B. Lippincott Co., 1970. 2nd Printing . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good -. The interior of the book is clean and fresh. The front free end paper has a small ownership sticker, but the book has no other marks, or even signs of previous use. The turquoise boards are bright, with just a touch of wear at corners. The navy spine is lightly bumped. The silver spine lettering is still shiny. The dust jacket is not corner-clipped, and is also in very good condition. It has next to no general wear, but a former owner has reinforced all edges with plastic tape. This is not very visible (it doesn't really show in the attached scan, for example), but is still a flaw. The jacket is now in a removeable mylar cover. Synopsis: On March 17, 1964, Jerrie Mock became the first woman to make a solo flight around the world, piloting a single-engine Cessna nicknamed Three-Eight Charlie. This is Mock's own account of the flight, with all its problems and dangers.

"Three-Eight Charlie" is a book written by Jerrie Mock, published in 1970. Jerrie Mock was an American pilot who gained international fame as the first woman to fly solo around the world. In "Three-Eight Charlie," Jerrie Mock recounts her historic flight around the world in 1964 in her single-engine Cessna 180 aircraft, which she named "Spirit of Columbus." The book provides a detailed account of her journey, including the challenges she faced, the people she met along the way, and the triumphs and setbacks she experienced during her 29-day, 23,103-mile journey. Mock's solo flight shattered gender stereotypes and inspired generations of female aviators. "Three-Eight Charlie" is both a riveting adventure story and a testament to Mock's courage, determination, and pioneering spirit. Her…
