This was the first geography written in the United States [ see Nietz, OLD TEXTBOOKS, p.196]. Columbia, Michigan, Indiana & Illinois are still territories here. Altho Captains Lewis & Clark are mentioned on p. 74, the results of their expedition are essentially unknown here.
