Washington, Georgia:: The Washington Reporter Print,. Fair/NONE. 1914. Hardcover. Small hardcover first edition with the name/address on front endpaper of Minnie Neal Barnes, presumably a previous owner. Heavy wear to black-lettered gray cloth covers, including bumped corners, edgewear and edge nicks, fraying and small tears at head and foot of spine. Front hinge severely cracked but holding (just barely) , with heavy notes in pencil and ink and glued-on newspaper clippings on related Neal family matters covering both front and rear endpapers. Rear endpapers have small holes (minor; text unaffected) , and some pages are creased. Text underlined here and there, with spotting on some pages. Frontis portraits of author and his wife are creased and foxed, black-and-white photo between pages 56 and 57 of Neal with Civil War relics, including Confederate flag; last page is small b&w photo of old Neal homeplace. 135 pages. Neal served with Company D, 12th Georgia Batallion. No DJ. ; .

(Washington, GA: Washington Reporter Print, 1914. First edition. Small 8vo. 135 pp. Illus., portrait plates. Includes a description of the author's service with the 12th Georgia Infantry during the Civil War, first with the Army of Tennessee, later with the Army of Northern Virginia; a roster for Co. D of the 12th Georgia is also included. Historian Kenneth Coleman's copy, inscribed to him by Charles H. Clarke, pastor of Chipley Baptist Church in Pine Mountain, Georgia, on the front flyleaf in 1961; typed letter, signed, from Pastor Clarke the same year, laid in. Not in Dornbusch, Nevins, or Broadfoot. Not in the De Renne catalogue. Very good. Original black-stamped gray cloth. (#5690).
