Introduction by Joe Hill (true first edition: Secker & Warburg UK and Harcourt Brace US, 1949) Fine in Fine Dust Jacket in Slipcase as NEW. (There were also Roman Numeral, Lettered, and Numbered editions, the first two of which are nearly unobtainable at this point. Some numbered copies can be had for $2000+.)NOTE: The original first edition was titled Nineteen Eighty-Four and was published in 1949 by Secker and Warburg in the UK and Harcourt, Brace in the US and subsequently made into a feature film released in 1984 starring Richard Burton as O'Brien and John Hurt as Winston Smith, and directed by Michael Radford.
