Description:
(NY): CBS, 1967. Hardcover. Very Good. Small cloth quarto, 10 x 8 inches, inscribed by Paulene Myers, who played Olly Winter's mother in the teleplay. Book near fine but for staple on flyleaf that has left a small indentation on the next page and a bit of mellowing to spine color. 91 pp, illustrated with photoplates from the production, which recounts the tale of Olly Winter, an African-American Master Sergeant in the Vietnam War who is walking back to allied-controlled land following a battle with the Viet Cong. Along the way, he meets up with a Vietnamese girl, an orphaned infant, and a dog. The program is basically a monologue as the character of Winter speaks to the girl about his experiences even though she cannot understand him. Very uncommon, especially inscribed by a cast member.
