Inside pages are clean and unmarked, overall with two leaves having minor edge spotting. A reprint edition of two of the Great Stories of Canada written for children and published by Macmillan in the 1950s. There was a set of ten two-in-one volumes published in this format. This copy includes the complete text of Roderick Haig-Brown's Captain of the Discovery about George Vancouver and Thomas Raddall's The Rover about the Nova Scotian privateer ship. Both are illustrated with the original black and white artwork with a colour wash. An attractive volume for someone who collects the Great Stories of Canada series. .

Dust jacket is not price-clipped, retaining publisher's printed price of $2.00, has three edge tears (3/4" at bottom of rear panel, 1/2" top of rear panel, and 1/2" bottom of rear flap fold, a line of light soiling (or foxing) along both flap folds, and the red and yellow colours on the spine panel are faded (as is common for this title).
