London: Gollancz, 1940. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. THE GOLLANCZ ARCHIVE COPY. Publisher's black boards with orange-red spine lettering. ARCHIVE COPY stamp to the title page otherwise a fine copy in a spine-sunned D/W that is in VG condition priced 7/6 net to the spine (as called for). The D/W is lightly frayed to the head and tail of the spine and has a blue ink stain to the verso of the D/W at the bottom right hand corner of the back panel which has spread to the base of the spine. The UK first edition of this title is very uncommon in D/W. "The Baron von Kaz and his miraculous umbrella are back, this time with a bride. Before the honeymoon in California's hills can get properly started, the honeymoon cottage becomes a shambles. Both the Baron and the reader get a good run for their money (Time Magazine April 1, 1940). Photographs/scans available upon request.
