This is an unusual construction - a 'double-tall' copy with the full text "Down Our Street" at the bottom, and the Reader-Manual at the top. There is a full length cloth book ribbon bound in to mark your place in both book sections. Mild damp-staining to the bottom edge and heavy wear at the corners and spine tips. Soiling to the boards and a small goudge at the rear joint. Binding is solid on both the upper and lower texts and all pages are unmarked. Fair condition due to the library pocket and dampstaining, but overall quite good for this title. Color illustrations throughout.

A fair to good copy - better outside than in. Externally, good with bending to the corner tips, some soiling to the cloth and some stray pen markings to the rear cover. Interior has previous owner's bookplate to the paste down and 2 owner names to the free-endpaper. Bottom of endpaper and title page are torn about 3 inches up, and a handful of other pages with shorter tears or small chunks missing at the margins. Text pages are unmarked and the binding and hinges are solid. 151 pp., some illustrations by Eugenie M. Wireman, word review list and adverts at rear.

Interior has previous owner's name to the free-endpaper and a series of pencil and pen lines across the front endpapers. Bottom of endpaper is torn about an inch up, the title page has 2 pieces of tap holding a tear shut toward the binding, and 2 other pages have been taped back together. Many other pages have shorter tears or small chips missing at the margins. Text pages are unmarked and the binding and hinges are solid. 168 pp., some illustrations by Blance Fisher Wright, word review list at rear.

Washington DC: Sanz Publications, 1973. First edition thus. Hardcover. Good. Two volumes in good condition. Green cloth hardcovers with gilt titles, lacking dustjackets, presumably as issued. First thus. Both volumes with crimping at the spoine tips, and minor soiling along the top edge of the textblock. Book One with hard bumps to the top front corners, light soiling to the front board, and some minor pencil writing in the text. Book two is cleaner and tighter, as if the student didn't get that far. Combined, over 380 pages and multiple lessons. Known as "the professor" to presidents, Sanz founded a lanuge school in 1939 just blocks from the White House. His textbooks are scarce.
