Hbk 12mo, quarter leather over marbled-paper covered boards, various paginations , consisting of 19 early Temperance tracts compiled by the Society, illustre woodcuts of the calamities that befall drinkers, 1Ó loss to the leather at the front where the spine meets the front board and another small loss to the tail of the spine, front cover detaching, pages foxed here and there but entirely legible, and internally a very good- clean tight and unmarked copy, becoming harder to find

New York: American Tract Society, 1834. First edition. Hardcover. Good. First edition. N.d. (1834). Original half leather over marbled paper-covered boards; spine lined and lettered in gilt. Illustrated with six woodcuts at the headings of tracts. Compilation of noneteen early temperance tracts including Benjamin Rush's "The Effects of Ardent Spirits upon the Human Mind and Body". Each entry is individually paginated. Deaccessioned from an historical society with their stamp on the title page (small abraded hole) and front free endpaper; chop to the foot of the spine and white lettering visible; additional wear to the spine and covers. Interior clean, tight and unmarked. A rather scarce publication.
