In this initial edition the author is not named, nor is the school identified. Later printings note the author as Henry Drummond as the initials on the front cover pastedown would suggest. Casey Stengel was Manager; Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Billy Martin, Elston Howard and Don Larsen were all on this team. Larsen would pitch a Perfect Game in the 1956 World Series. This program also lists Enos Slaughter as starting Left Fielder; Slaughter joined the team on August 25th, when he was claimed off waivers from the Kansas City Athletics. This program thus date to September 3rd, when the Yankees played two games against the Orioles. This team was led by Coach Stan Borleske. They went undefeated for the year and were Far Western Conferenece champs. The Bulldogs opponent was the Cal Aggies of UC Davis.
