From a series of 380 l executed by Hippolyte Le Comte and published 1820-21 by Francois Delpech. Delpech operated the most popular lithographic print shop in Paris; LeComte was a French painter best known for his large scale historical paintings and ballet designs; the caricaturist J.J. Grandville worked in his studio. Approximately 8"x10", signed in the plates -- plates 109-180 consecutively are bound in period board covers; another 8 plates are loose: 10, 64-67, 348, 364, 367. Title page is worn and soiled as are a number of the pages in the adits at rear. Title p age and fep partially detached but fully intact. Front hinge spli t but intact. Covers very heavily rubbed and chipped with most of the lettering on the spine missing. .

Politically he held some of the city's most impo rtant offices and was a member of the broader circle of the early Medici regime. He spent the last ten years of his life completin g this Historia Florentine; he died in Florence in March of 1466. The history existed only in manuscript form until its publicatio n in nine volumes between 1579-1637.
