San Francisco: San Francisco International Film Festival, 1958. First Edition, First Printing. Original wraps. Very Good +. 5 X 8 1/4 Inches. Scarce original program to the 1958 San Francisco International Film Festival. This, the second year of the festival, was held at the Metro Theater in SF from October 29 thru November 11, 1958. Sixteen countries exhibited a film during the event. Notably, the United States did not air a film at the festival until the following year. This festival tremendously aided the cause of San Francisco in it's early struggle for recognition as a city of Art and diversity. Original programs to the earlier years are quite scarce. Zero copies located on OCLC. Sunning to covers. Original staple binding.

Slight scuffing and light wear to edges. A nice specimen overall.

Contains all 11 original B&W publicity photos in the original bag and the complete stapled handbook of production information. Film starred paul Newman, Susan Sarandon, Gene Hackman, Reese Witherspoon and Stockard Channing. Slight scuffing and light wear to edges. A nice specimen overall.

First UK trade hardcover printing of the original "Alien" novelization. Original price intact on front flap of DJ. Foster also famously penned the novelizations for Star Wars, Pale Rider, Clash of the Titans, The Black Hole, Krull, Starman and The Last Starfighter among others. Light bump to middle of front cover and someone has drawn the outline of two hands in silver ink on the front endpage. Hint of wear to silver lettering on spine, else a fine copy. (NOTE: This was the only trade hardcover issued in 1979 for sale to the public. The US hardcover was part of the Science Fiction Book Club.).

Following the success of "Gracie", which was published the year before, "All My Best Friends" was a cash-in book for Burns and the publisher. That said, the book is pure gold for classic TV and movie afficianados. Burns dishes on everyone from Al Jolson to Frank Sinatra.

This draft features the main character as "Axel Elly" and not the "Axel Foley" that ended up in the final version. The date and content suggest that this version by Petrie was produced while Sylvester Stallone was still intended as the lead Eddie Murphy role. Handwritten movie title in red ink on spine. Slight wear to original clear plastic cover.
