Description:
Denver, CO: Montgomery Ward, 1980. First Edition, First Printing. Original wraps. Very Good. 8 X 10 7/8 Inches. 538 PP. Early 1980's Holiday catalog that has become quite sought after by toy and video game collectors. This particular catalog contains the typical smattering of corduroy you would expect from a 1980's department store, but is nearly legendary for the checklist of toys, including: Strawberry Shortcake, the World of Barbie, Lego, Chips, Starforce, Matchbox, Star Wars Empire Strikes Back (Color), Mego (Batman, Spiderman, Superman, Robin, Batmobile & Spidercar), and the Lone Ranger.

Spine remains uncreased. Slight wear at edges and corners. A much nicer copy than is usually encountered.

Philadelphia: The Atari Club, 1983. First Edition. Original wraps. Very Good. 8 1/2 X 11 Inches. 34 Pages. Time Warp Ahead!!! Original complete issue of Atari Age magazine. All fold-outs and order forms intact. Slight wear to edges, but very clean overall. This issue contains full-page ads for the new KRULL and POLE POSITION video games. This issue also contains a full-page ad for the new coin-operated Star Wars video game coming to an arcade near you! Two-page Atari product catalog and the introduction of four new home computers from the Atari Corporation. Every issue of Atari Age is like a little 1980's time capsule in my opinion. The graphics, the interviews and the format itself are so representative of what we think of when think 80's pop culture. ATARI AGE MAGAZINE WAS THE FIRST MAGAZINE IN HISTORY DEVOTED TO GAMING AND GAMING CULTURE!

"I would have been happy to talk with her about the phone book." - Alan Foster on Carrie Fisher.

First printing of a print run of only 1000 copies. Original issue price was $50 from Centipede. This copy signed by Alan Dean Foster directly on the title-page. Cover and title-page art by David Ho. An incredible behind-the-scenes, intelligent, funny and vastly important book on the work that Alan put into writing the novelizations of films such as Star Wars, Luana, The Black Hole, Clash of the Titans, The Thing, Krull, Starman, Alien, Pale Rider, The Force Awakens and many more. For a fan of 70's and 80's pop-culture and many of the films Alan wrote the novels for, I am personally thrilled he put some of his experiences and influences down on paper for posterity. While this many never be the seller that his Commonwealth novels… Read More

Original price of $35.00 intact on the front flap. One of the final books in what we fans call "the dark time" - before the prequel releases and the new birth of Star Wars and the power of the force. Focuses solely on the classic Star Wars territories of Tatooine, Coruscant, Dagobah, Hoth, Endor, Bespin, Yavin 4 and Alderaan. I believe this to be the first book combining the art of the original trilogy into a "universe" format. This led to numerous others of course.

This book offers by William Gibson and Neil Gaiman among others. The entries are a bit all over the place, but I must admit that the authors and editors did a great job at swinging from the enduring creations of Ralph McQuarrie (Star Wars conceptual artist) to the Voynich manuscript. Not everyday you read about how WarGames (Broderick) shaped military policy in real-life or how the E.T. of the 80's that we knew and loved came from the pen of Harrison Ford's girlfriend at the time (although he and Melissa Mathison did share a 20+ year marriage together). As if you couldn't tell, I really like this book.
