[70]p., staplebound pamphlet in 7.5x5 inch decorated wraps, texts in Turkish, English, German, Italian, Arabic (cursive) and French; texts and photos printed on glazed paperstock throughout, mild signs of handling and age but perfectly clean, sound and unmarked: a very good copy.

New York: Vantage Press, 1976. 32p., text reproduced from double-spaced typescript, 11x8.5 inch green boards gilt in yellow dust jacket. The dj is rubbed and edgeworn, but is useful for its vita and author photo; the book itself, which is in very good condition with no ownership marks, is about fine. MacDougall managed Black, Starr and Frost on 5th Ave; he is pro-Nixon (Watergate a tempest in a teapot), anti-JFK (most virulently) and skips over Johnson.

Paris: Plon, 1968. Hardcover. 250p., small bookplate on front pastedown else very good condition in a good dj with a faded spine. Text in French.

Bogota, Columbia: Ediciones Suramérica, 1973. Paperback. 102p., wraps, paper toned, previous owner's name penned on front blank else good condition, illus. Text in Spanish. Coleccion política.

London: London Co Op Political Committee, n.d.. Staplebound Wraps. Memorial pamphlet, corner-stapled standard leaves (9), printed rectos only, providing a cover photo of Jara singing to children, terminated with a fullpage photoportrait of Allende speaking at mics, and in between find seven poems translated from Jara's Spanish (Englished lyrics, no Spanish nor any music notation). Allende's address runs two pages. Item is slightly edgeworn at head of spine but staple is holding well, back cover margin bears a quarter-inch tear, all in all a good (good-only) copy. Cover price (20p) suggests the item was designed for bookstall purchase, but could be adapted to being an inexpensive freebie (inexpensive for the committee as well).

San Jose CR: Editorial Universitaria Centroamericana, 1989. Mass Market Paperback. 251p., provided with numerous tables and a line map of Guatemala; small softbound in 6.5x4.5 inch decorated wraps; covers are handled and edgeworn, text within on acidic paper that has toned evenly throughout, generally sound, and quite clean and unmarked: a good to very good copy.

Managua: Ediciones Monimbo, 1983. Paperback. 95p., profuse b&w photojournalism, reproduced fullpage for the most part, some doublespreads, sporadic captioning (many photos need no captions). Violence, maiming, intimidation, soldiery, civilian peasantry, women, men, children - the viewer is spared the worst of the hideous images but the evident terror is articulate. Softbound in 11.5x9 inch decorated cardstock wraps, slight signs of wear with a small chip at the head of the spine, consigner's initials penciled lightly on title page, else free of any markings and quite clean. A sound, very good copy.

Boston: Branden Press, 1976. Paperback. 182p., softbound in first edition in 8x5 inch decorated wraps. The matte white cover stock is a little toned with a hint of dust but otherwise quite good, a sound clean copy that bears a signed presentation inscription by author Steuer. Steuer a native of San Francisco; part of this narrative is report of Bay Area anti-war protests, but mostly it is set in DC behind the scenes where the They run everything. A Nixon type of president gets more dictatorial than the real RMN did and is finally murdered in jail, sparing all of us impeachment proceedings.

Mexico D.F.: Editorial Extemporaneos, 1974. Paperback. 118p., newsprint with b&w photography and news reports in facsimile throughout a double-column running text. Huge paperbound in 13x8.5 inch decorated wraps, the second edition (same year as first issue). A little edgeworn, pages evenly toned, minor stain to front cover. Documentos extemporaneos 1.

Mexico City: Editorial Samo, 1973. Paperback. 149, [3]pp., facsimiles, wraps. 6.5 x 4.5 in. First edition. 4,000 copies. Covers starting to peel at edges. Transcriptions of letters between U.S. government officials and International Telephone and Telegraph purporting to show their collusion in the political and economic destabilization of Chile and the ultimate toppling of the Allende administration. After the September 11 coup, the Weather Underground bombed ITT's office in New York.

Madrid: Bernardo Rodríguez, 1910. 174p., paperback, pages untrimmed and uncut at top, some edgewear and foxing. By the deposed Nicaraguan leader who had been overthrown with US backing.

La Paz: Imprentas Unidas, 1980. Paperback. 269, [3]pp., wraps. Minor shelf wear, but overall a Very Good copy. Text in Spanish. A recollection of the mine strikes of 1930 (precipitated by the crash in tin prices at the start of the Great Depression which greatly destabilized the country) and the Chaco War. The author was enrolled in a military academy until hard times forced him to take a job in mining. He then fought in the Chaco War and later completed his studies. He lived in exile following the 1966 coup which overthrew the republican government and installed a military junta.

Washington DC: Institute for the Comparative Study of Political Systems, a Division of Operations and Policy Research, Inc, 1968. Staplebound. [10], 85, [1]pp., wraps. 9 x 6 in. Political Studies Series, 5. Part of a series of studies on the transfer of power in Latin America, with several devoted to coups.

New York: The Realist Association, 1965. Supplement, a single leaf of newsprint printed and folded to make an 11x8.5 inch self-wraps brochure. A very badly edgeworn, chipped copy; no losses to text, but fragile and as is. Cover story by Laurence Henry, "The Conference That Wasn't," he was in Algeria to attend what was to be the second Afro-Asian conference in 1965 (in June; Malcolm X was there) but found it had been made impossible by the coup in Algeria and further developments in Indonesia. Saul Heller contributes reflections on crime and "domestic co-existence" Note that the supplementary Realist publications are for subscribers only.

n.p.: Society of Graduates of American Universities in Iraq, 1959. Pamphlet. 31p., staplebound pamphlet, very good. On the overthrow of Nuri Said; critical of US role.

San Francisco; Oakland; Berkeley: various, 1973. Group of lealfets, mostly 8.5x11 inches, from groups including the Ad Hoc Coalition Against Intervention in Chile, the Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee, NACLA, and the Communist Party; most have dates penned in the corner, some creasing or other handling wear. Three are from the weekend after the Sept. 11 coup, calling for demonstrations; later ones include an announcement of a talk by Swedish ambassador Harald Edelstam.

Los Angeles: Coalition for the Resoration of Democracy in Chile, 1973. 8.5x11 inch handbill, very good, announcing a march less than two weeks after the Sept. 11 coup in Chile.

Berkeley; San Francisco: Ad Hoc Committee to Stop the Esmerelda, 1978. Poster. 17.5x22 inch poster, some smudges of soil and minor creases. Protests a visit to the Bay Area by the Chilean ship Esmerelda, which had been used as a floating prison after the 1973 coup. The US Navy had invited the ship for Armed Forces Week.
