Pamphlet. 32p, presswork on semi-glazed slightly acidic paperstock and illustrated with numerous monochrome sketches and a vivid color photo of Singer's latest design, The Futura. Laid in is a useful addendum from another source. Softbound, an 8x5.5 inch pamphlet in colorphoto wraps, covers somewhat rubbed and crimped from handling, paper is mildly toned, a sound copy that is clean and unmarked.

New York: Rizzoli, 1979. 394p., color plates, b&w plates, a plethora of b&w vignettes and details, numerous line maps plus doublespread endsheet maps; first edition openweave cloth boards in glossy dust jacket. There is mildest edgewear to dj, we neither see nor detect any other flaw. Clean, sound and unmarked, a fine book in near-fine condition.

Philadelphia: Rohm & Haas Company, 1942. Pamphlet. 44p., presswork on coated alkaline paperstock with numerous b&w photos and blue spot-color enhancement on nearly every page. Softbound, a pamphlet in 8x5.5 inch blue wraps, stapled, a virtually immaculate copy: absolutely sound, clean and unmarked. Bound in find a printed notice headed "For the Duration" --the brief text names peacetime applications of the two products, and also, for the duration of war, how devoted Rohm & Haas are to nosecones, gun turrets and other transparencies. Dated from a tiny backpage list of impressions; first issue was a run of 10000 in 1940, second 5000 in '41, this run likewise 5000.

Pamphlet. 71p, presswork on slightly acidic paperstock and profusely illustrated with monochrome sketches, photos in color & b&w, diagrams, charts, detailing. Softbound, a 9x6 inch pamphlet in glossy decorated wraps. Item is stapled, staples now rusty and no longer holding inmost leaves (no losses). Covers somewhat rubbed and crimped from handling, paper is mildly toned, but clean and unmarked. As is. The Amy Vanderbilt success program for women.

London / Philadelphia: Hali Publications Ltd, 1983. Paperback. Unpaginated, perhaps 75p with a dozen pages of "advertisements" nearly indistinguishable from the main articles, line map in colors, plenty of clear color exhibit photographs and supplementary b&w photos on glazed alkaline paperstock, softbound in 11.5x8.5 inch color wraps. A little edgewear, faint signs of handling, a nice copy structurally sound and free of any markings.

Graz: Teppich Raritaten Reinisch, 1983. Hardcover. Unpaginated preliminaries (about a dozen pages), 47p. (also the number of plates), all in color on high-gloss paperstock, each plate extensively captioned in German and English, hardbound in 12x8.5 inch pictorial boards. Case has general mild edgewear with small nicks at head and tail of spine panel, entirely sound, clean and unmarked within, a good copy. Herr Reinisch in his prefatory remarks invokes Karl May as childhood inspiration for rug- scrounging, and Rene Magritte for a grown-up reason; an unusual rugman, hein?

New York: Orley Shabahang, 2009. Paperback. Unpaginated, about seventy pages, fullsize captioned color and b&w photos throughout on fine alkaline paperstock, find a rear pocket containing five 9x6 inch color design cards (as called for; mostly modernist & abstract). Item is an 8.5x11 inch oblong softbound in fine shape: perfectly sound, clean and unmarked. These rug entrepreneurs found five tiny rural villages snug between rice paddies and a fearsome mountain range (see doublespread photo) where the inhabitants, men & women both, were glad to pick up money weaving. Most of the recent patterns are excellent, and the weavers can do classical designs too.
