Includes sections on why the twenty-first century will be the age of psychotherapy, the I-Thou relationships theorized by Martin Buber, and religion's relationship to counseling. Author was a psychotherapist based in Menlo Park, and was an attendee at the First National Conference on Asian-American Mental Health in San Francisco in 1972.

Foreword describes the books as "a series of reflections wherein the author invites her readers to ponder the tremendous potential they have within themselves to develop as fully human and fully holy persons." Agudo was a Filipino-American Franciscan missionary and psychotherapist at the House of Affirmation, a treatment center for "troubled" priests which was closed amid financial scandal in 1989. Co-founder Thomas A. Kane (who also wrote this book's foreword) was later accused of sexual abuse himself.

Arbours Association was an alternative psychiatry/psychology group which sought to help people who might otherwise become institutionalized which leads to becoming "professional mental patients." New York: The Macmillian Company, 1961. Hardcover. Unpaginated, about one hundred pages with as many inventive sketches, alkaline paperstock, excellent reproductions, hard bound in 11X8.5 inch glossy paper-over-boards under a black cloth backstrip titled in silverfoil, and enclosed in the dust jacket. Book itself is close to fine, with a touch of wear at the top and tail of spine (loss of a little color, only), but the dust jacket is generally worn and has neat tape-strengthenings to verso. Sound, clean, and unmarked, a very good copy.

Hardcover. 184p., first edition, lacking dust jacket, ownership signature on front free endpaper, slight bump on board edge, corners a bit bumped, spine slightly toned, else very good. "Bristow Rogers is the story of a talented, educated American Negro facing the problem of finding meaningful existence in a 'complex ' society" who seeks psychoanalytic help. The authors talk about 'marginal men' 'finding themselves.' Racism, apparently, has no place in the psychoanalytic lexicon.

Hardcover. xi, 119p., preface, introduction, summary, notes, bibliography, very good first edition in dark blue cloth boards (lettered in darkest blue and silverfoil) and unclipped dust jacket. Jacket flap creased, casing's rims show a touch of lost color, this is a very good copy: generally sound, entirely clean and unmarked. Studies in Language Noam Chomsky & Morris Halle, editors.

Respectively 44, 25p., two pamphlets softbound in 8.5x5.5 inch stapled wraps, matching formats; laid into one is an introductory letter on HEW letterhead. "The Diagnostic Process" with small sticker scar on front wrap and top corner of rear wrap dog-eared else clean and sound, very good copies, sold as a pair. DHEW publication nos. (OHD) 75-69, 75-70. The first two publications of the just-established center on child abuse.

Ardsley NY: Geigy Pharmaceuticals, 1976. Pamphlet. 24p., illustrated with collaged period imagery by Anita Siegal, and softbound in 10.5x6.5 inch matte grey wraps decorated with portrait of CG; a dust jacket encloses, this printed in glossy white cardstock with same portrait but with color framing. Dust jacket printing is dated 1976 while booklet presswork is dated 1975, perhaps the sober grey booklet was deemed drab. Upper corners are bumped (affecting all of the text-leaves), lower corner-tips turned, otherwise sound, and quite clean and unmarked. Creative Psychiatry no. 4. A caveat emptor applies here, the series was run up to sell drugs: "Creative Psychiatry, developed by The Life Sciences Advisory Group and edited by Frederic F. Flach, M.D. for Geigy Pharmaceuticals, is made available as a professional service to physicians" -text from both booklet itself and from its pamphlet cover.
