Unpaginated preliminaries, 240p., a lavishly underwritten production which allowed for color photos as well as b&w, and numerous monochrome-green embellishments throughout. Hardbound in spring-green cloth boards, lacks the dust jacket but is a fresh sound copy, unmarked and clean.

Fallbrook CA: Aero Publishers, Inc, 1983. Paperback. 154p., illustrations include 16p section on glazed paper of artist's renderings and photos in color, and also many b&w photos, diagrams and cartoons in the text; softbound first edition in 8.5x5.5 inch decorated wraps. Edges are faintly foxed, else entirely clean and sound, a very good copy. The thesis (laser "umbrella") came under fire from other scientists; President Reagan had better luck with his "peacekeepers," the underground MX on rails.

Urbana: University of Illinois Press, 2001. Paperback. xx + 213p., trade paperback, photos, very good condition. First issued in 1997; author in her "Preface to the Paperback Edition" (this one) says. that she has since talked with "hundreds" of people and has added material to explain how she came to join, and why she stayed in it for ten years. Her new four-page Preface may be the sum total of her additions, of course.

Hardcover. xiv, 209p., illustrated with a single composite frontispiece consisting of four photoportraits of UK atomic harbingers, hardbound American first edition in tan cloth boards in its lackluster dust jacket on glossy paperstock. A near-fine copy, dust jacket spine panel is faintly sunned, but otherwise item is entirely sound, clean and unmarked. Background of British science and military planning. Oppenheimer is not even listed in the index. Britain led, the US finished.

Santa Rosa CA: Self-published by author Ketchum, 2007. Hardcover. [2]p. (Shulgin intro), iv, 1-360p., illustrated with numerous chemical formulae plain & fancy (the fancy are presented in neat small boxes color-xeroxed throughout the final quarter of text). First (and possibly last) edition, in 8X11 inch laminated boards, Text stock is entirely clay-coated paper, presswork is professional-level. Condition: slightly edgeworn, but expect structural and aesthetic damage to front hinge, where the pastedown of endsheet has begun to lift away from front board, a half-inch gap at gap's top end, dwindling away 3/4 of the way down. No leaves are lost or even at risk, book is slightly musty. All other aspects of the item perfectly sound, clean and unmarked, a good (good-only) copy that is inscribed and signed to a "great editor!" Chicago: Field Museum of Natural History, 1925. Pamphlet. 2p. plus b&w plates (52, one per page including frontis), staple-fastened plain printed tan wraps, plates as called for, a fine copy: absolutely sound, clean and unmarked, really as-new. Anthropology Design series no. 4. FYI, the plates that are not "photogravure" are perfectly well-reproduced; these are usually rubbings from incised work.

New York: New York University, 1970. Pamphlet. 24p., illustrated with professional photojournalism, softbound in 11x8.5 inch stapled wraps. Paperstock is alkaline and nice enough within, but covers are dust-soiled with a purple-ish splash-stain and much irregular toning. No ownership markings, no names or underlines, a good reading copy. University POV. Proper names mentioned in the title are the buildings that were occupied.

[New Haven]: Science Action Group, Yale University, 1969. Four-panel brochure, 8.5x11 inches, some toning. Opposes development of an antiballistic missile system as increasing the risk of war.

Voluntown, CT: New England Committee for Nonviolent Action, 1969. 8.5x11 inch handbill, paper toned. Opposes development of an antiballistic missile system; notes the irony of the ABM vote taking place on August 6th.

Hardcover. lxiv, 434p., rubricated titlepage, folded maps bound in (one with an onlaid red route line), and other maps and period images on coated inserted stock, hardbound in 10x6.45 inch spring-green cloth boards gilt. Cloth casing rather worn with handling, bumped corners, spine panel shows some soil, a sound copy without any markings.

Washington DC: The American Ordnance Association, 1961. Pamphlet. 31p., a fine-press treatment on splendid paperstock (staplebound, but so be it), rubricated titlepage, pamphlet format; features seven plates each displaying numerous edged weapons (no lances, sorry), rifles and amazing pistols, some with author's personal experience of handling. A rather pedestrian-looking revolver is his favorite. Booklet has a lower-corner-tip bump, remarkably the sole blemish to its yapp- or clerical-margined design, which is provided with a minimalist colophon. Sound, clean and unmarked: very good to fine condition.

Olympia, WA: Olympic Arms, Inc. / Safari Arms, Inc, 1991. 29p., staplebound 8.5x11 inch catalog, mild handling wear, address label on rear cover. Features special commemorative guns to celebrate the bicentennial of the Bill of Rights.

n.p.: the Corps, [20--]. 51p., staplebound photocopied booklet in zine format. Undated, but mention of the "failing, mostly hierarchically oriented anti-war movement" suggests the second Iraq War period.

Rome: Quasar, 1977. 424p., b&w and color plates on coated paper throughout, 11.5x9.5 inch cloth boards in decorated dj; a very good copy.

New York: Andre Emmerich Inc, 1968. Paperback. 103p., illustrated with doublespread map on monochrome leaves, numerous color and b&w exhibit photos with a few explanatory diagrams, all pix and text printed on high-gloss alkaline paperstock and softbound in 9x6 inch color cardstock wraps. Covers mildly edgeworn with a minute corner-tip turn, plus sun-lines along the margins. A sound copy, clean and unmarked within.

Los Angeles: Communist Party of Los Angeles, 1950. Five folded brochures, apparently the complete set, very good. The series lays out statistics to argue that the Cold War sucks resources into defense of the capitalist class while leaving social priorities ignored. States that war-related industries can be retooled for peaceful production. One was issued each week, culminating in the final issue with an invitation to join the Communist Party.

New York: Copper & Brass Research Association, 1939. Pamphlet. [16]p., glazed paperstock printed double-column, illustrated with numerous b&w vignette-size illustrations period and photographic. Dusty creased 10x7.5 inch wraps, generally sound, dust is external not within, no underlines or any other markings, but find some foxing and a parted adhesion at 14/15 (glaze disturbed but no loss of text). A good copy.
