Description:
This is a rather amazing find. It is an ethnographic study of peasant folk art from Romania. Originally published in 1909, It was reproduced in 1979 by Transylvania Magazine. Text is in Romanian. This work was the painstaking effort of Dimitre Comsa, who sought to record the remarkable artistry in sculpted articles of wood created by Romanian peasant workers. The large scale prints clearly show the work. The plates are on archival paper. A real treasure if you are interested in folk wood carving. There is a table describing the plates included in this boxed set.It will require extra shipping costs due to its large size.
