Good copy of The Author's first novel. Text is clean, light staining of rear board. Pages bright and clear. Previous owner's name and date (1953) on first free endpaper. DJ is good, with two open tears on front, each about 1cm in size. Closed tears on front bottom and top. Small closed tear on back top. Slight water wrinkling on back DJ near spine. This is a rebound copy of the First Edition of the Martian Chronicles. If you have spent $2000+ for a good First Edition, but you want to actually READ the first edition, then perhaps this copy is for you.It is a library discard from the Washoe County (Reno) Nevada Library.. It was rebound in 1963 by the Houchen Bindery of Omaha Nebraska. This copy still has the library card in it, and a few stamps and mark. The binding is intact, and all pages present and in good shape.Corners bumped, some pages lightly stained, I wish that it was perfect of course, but it isn't.

This volume is missing its DJ, but is VG, with no markings. The cover is virtually perfect. Binding is tight. Some age yellowing of pages. Not paginatedThe Dawning Light is only fair. Published by Gnome Press in 1959. It is a library discard (Berkeley Public Library) and has multiple library stamps. No DJ. Front free end paper is torn. Binding is loose, but intact. columns of sums on back free endpaper. Tape marks on covers. Tops and bottoms of boards chipped.Pages very age yellowed, as is common with late period Gnome Press editions. Greenberg used cheap paper.These stories hold up very well for their age.
