Buff-colored wrappers, front cover oval cutout surrounded by the title and line drawings of the gardens; through the cutout oval, part of the first colored illustration under the cover is visible.

Small quarto (9 1/4 by 6 inches) [San Diego, California], August 19 to August 26, 1911. Original Edition. 16 page stapled weekly advertising periodical, and calendar of programs, bound in wrappers for the "Tent City" adjacent to the famous Coronado Hotel. Good condition (there is a small scribbled date along the lower margin of the front cover, modest age toning, and minor wear to edges; none affecting contents which are clean and intact).

Volume XII, No. 10 for Saturday, August 19, 1911 with sections on "Locals and Personals," "Arrivals" (with names of guests), a "Program" for each day of the week for concerts and performances ("The Great Sousa Night"); and many interesting local advertisements for businesses in San Diego and vicinity including one for "Madame Zelma."

Paper promotional advertising pamphlet folded twice to form eight panels printed on both sides, illustrated with halftone black and white photos of Mt. Lowe, a California Mission, a view of an automobile traveling through "mountains and valleys," a young lady posing with Southern California flowers, a "Typical Southern California Hotel;" and an idealized composite image, in black and white, on the covers - of a passenger ship docking, a beach scene and a view of a valley with snow capped peaks in the background - all overseen by a young lady perched on some rocks. Original, very good condition.

"Los Angeles County As A Summer and Winter Resort," with a description of roads, street car rides, an interurban trip via Pacific Electric Railway or Auto Bus, attractions, hotels and apartments, railroads and depots; and what it all costs.

Original, wrappers, good condition (old bend to front cover, small residue of stuck paper on page 11, inked name on page 19, small tear to corner of last page, general age toning to covers - overall very readable and interesting).

The descriptive text covers, in part: Pomona, Orange County, Pasadena, Duarte, Glendale, Los Angeles, Riverside County, the Missions, San Fernando, the Valley, San Pedro, San Diego, San Bernardino County, and Death Valley.

Octavo (9 x 4 inches) Original, promotional staplebound brochure printed on stiff paper, with embossed gilt monogram "A" on upper left corner of front cover, folded once to form 12 unnumbered pages, illustrated with drawings and black and white halftone photos, map of Southern California and vicinity with local attractions in relation to the hotel's location.

Evocative of the early 1920s Hollywood: Art Nouveau style sepia drawings on the cover, and at lower margin on every page, projecting the elegance of the hotel; of guests enjoying fine dining, dancing, and golf, while socializing in furs and formal wear.

Very good condition (discreet Peck Judah rubber stamp on front cover, not affecting contents).

The hotel was on Wilshire Boulevard, and the location of the famous Coconut Grove nightclub. Both hotel and nightclub are gone, replaced by a high school.
