New York: Heritage Press Introduction by Carl Van Doren Narrow 4to size color illustrated pictorial cloth bound hardcover; 345 pages with color illustrated double front endpapers and some black and white decorations by Miguel Covarrubias. Description of the book from GoodReads website: "A failed revolutionary attempt drives the hero of Hudson's novel to seek refuge in the primeval forests of south-western Venezuela. There, in the 'green mansions' of the title, Abel encounters the wood-nymph Rima, the last survivor of a mysterious aboriginal race. The love that flowers between them is soon overshadowed by cruelty and sorrow.." English author William Henry Hudson was a naturalist and ornithologist. Miguel Covarrubias was a Mexican artist and caricaturist. Some light soil to spine and covers. The slipcase is sunned at the mouth and lightly sunned at spine with some minor wear and white scratch on cover. There is a 1.5 inch tear and a small chip to slipcase.
