Laid in is a nice large 12pg color brochure for a recent exhibition "Alice Live" that was held at the New York Public Library for The Performing Arts in 2015. Illustrated.

The book is illustrated with 261 illustrations, sketches, drawings + photographs along with 94 plates in full color including some fold-out pages and the original Sendak Little Red Riding Hood popup which is in fine working condition along with a facsimile of the earliets dummy for "Where The Wild Things Are." Near fine/near fine. Also included is a nice 8 1/2" x 9 1/2" color illustration of a rabbit in the woods with a little girl. The caption reads "The sun is yellow." said Mr. Rabbit. "But I can't give her the sun." said the little girl, THIS HAS BEEN SIGNED IN INK BY MAURICE SENDAK. Also laid in is a large postcard for Wild Things Week NYC, which was a series of readings and other events for the opening of the film. Sold as a collection only.

Published to me in the late 20's the book is full of color, black and white and tinted illustrations and photographs on numerous subjects along with samples of text. Over 200pgs. this is a soft cover book in very nice condition with just a touch of wear to the covers. Pasted on the back pastedown is a spine strip.

New York City: Sam L. Gabriel Sons & Co.. First Printing . Oversize Paper. Rare and stunning children's book on airplanes that although not dated I would say it's from the early 1930's. The stunning artwork is the work of the illustrator R.C. Wardel who did many covers and art for many pulp magazines in the 20's and 30's .This book is illustrated with 12 vividly painted full color drawings of planes flying and some exteriors and interiors. The highlight is a double spread of 6 planes flying over New York City. Also includes non color illustrations on the front and back inside covers. Each illustration has a simple line of text on the white margins of each page. Printed on heavy stock paper. There is very light corner creasing to the front cover and a touch of spotting and soiling to the margin of one page, otherwise the book is vg and considering its age this is indeed remarkable.

Includes English translations for each page. Illustrated with 122 plates. Fine/fine

Depending on one's sensibility, these full color photos of dogs dressed in costumes can either seem funny, sick or scary. Or all three. Very minute crimping to the bottom of the dustjacket. Fine/vg.
