Description:
International Milling Company Inc, 1966. etc.. A set of eight retail bake shop layouts provided by the International Milling Company. The set was distributed during a 'Cool Rise' Demonstration of Fleischmann's yeast at the Colorado State University in August 1966. The eight plans come in a folder that depicts an image of a wheat field along with the dates of the demonstration listed at the bottom. The front flap of the folder has also been die cut into the shape of a bread loaf. Each layout within the folder has a layout done in one of four colors: red, green, yellow or blue. Each layout fold out into 5 sections and depicts the floor plan of a shop, and images of all the equipment needed as well as several paragraphs discussing the 'flow of production' in each layout. Paris, France: MP Marcel Picardo, 12-Jun-02. A single fold menu for Hotel de L'Empire located in Paris, France. The menu is most likely for their hotel restaurant and is dated June 12, 1902. That night dinners had a choice been Turbot (fish) in a cream sauce or chicken. The hotel was located at No. 7 Rue Daunou and is no longer in existence (though there is a hotel by the same name currently in Paris). The menu also has an advertisement for Redfern, a store in Paris that sold Furs, Robes, Dresses, Manteaux (coats), Lingerie and Trousseaux. Refern was a British tailoring firm founded in 1855 by John Redfern that had several stores across Europe. Its Paris extension was operated as a couture establishment which developed into a leading European Couture house, while its other branches were mostly tailors and/or importers. Each advertisement printed on heavy card stock has a chromolithograph illustration on the front and the menu of syrup flavors on the reverse. Both illustrate a woman wearing a Greek style dresses, and one is holding a branch of grapes while the other is holding flowers in one hand with a bunch of wheat and a scythe in the other. The advertisement on the back sides are the same for both- a list of the variety of health and soda drinks provided by A. C. McCardell. Some examples are: Pear Phosphates for impaired vitality, chocolate for nourishing and refreshment, Moxie for weakened energy, and Sarsaparilla for the blood. Also sold by A. C.
