This is part of Picture Book Studio's "Little Book" series of small-format (6 x 6 inches) versions of their popular titles. The interior of the book is crisp and clean, with one problem -- glue bubbles where the front end paper is attached to the covers. The illustrated laminated covers look new -- no wear or damage. The attached scan should give a better idea of condition.

The illustrated covers are bright, showing next to no wear. There is no dust jacket, as issued. Synopsis: This is a picture book version of a traditional Gaelic folk tale. Set in the West Highlands of Scotland, it tells the story of young Cathal O'Cruachan, who ventures forth to rescue his wife from the Giant of the Hunting-Hill with the help of his animal friends -- the Dog of the Great Mull, the Falcon of the Rock of the Ledge, the Brown Wren of the Stream of Flowing, and his loyal Dun Shaggy Filly. Illustrated throughout by Gilliland's wonderful silhouettes.

It is in very poor condition -- battered, tattered, marked, pages detaching from their cover, etc. etc. However, it has 8 colour plates by Katherine Cameron, and seems to be a rare item -- at the time of posting, there were no other copies on ABE. A warning, though. A previous owner has inked outlines in most of the plates. Scans are available on request, and this should definitely be seen before purchase.

There are six full page colour plates, (4 by Mabel Lucie Attwell, 1 by Honor Appleton, and 1 uncredited) as well as small black and white illustrations on most pages.
