Description:
New York: Hurst & Company This rare science fiction adventure title from the author of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and From the Earth to the Moon is in Good condition (click on photo). Although the book is not dated, the covers suggest that the book was published around the turn of the century. The front panel and spine have Americanized Art Nouveau floral designs. The front panel has a pastedown of a Gibson-girl type beauty. The book is bound in red cloth and shows wear and discoloration, including rubbing and fraying at the edges and corners, and a crease in the spine cloth. As for the interior, the binding is secure, even though there is a hinge split before the Contents page. The pages themselves have only light age toning, and are for the most part clean, with an occasional small margin stain. The book measures 5 ¼ by 7 ½ inches and includes 286 pages. . Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Description:
Akron, Ohio: The Werner Company, 1908. This handsome set of Poe (click on photo) is in Very Good Plus condition. Known as The Library Edition, it is bound in brick red cloth covers with die-stamped gilt spine lettering and top-edge gilt. Shelf rubbing is minimal. It has rough-cut pages, most of which are uncut and unread. Only two volumes of tales and one of poems show page-cutting by the original owner. Several pages in Volume II only have small margin stains. (I should point out that Werner also published a less expensive alternate cloth binding in pale gray that used paper labels and did not have re-enforced bindings or colored endpapers. Although the contents are identical in both editions, the gray binding is far less attractive and the paper labels are inferior to the die-stamped gilt found in this more collectible version.) Each volume contains a frontis and other illustrations, all with tissue guards. There are 36 illustrations in all. This century-old set was manufactured with re-enforced… Read More

Boulder, Colorado: Sentient Publications, 2005. Although this is a Stated First Edition, the "number line" indicates that it's actually a Fifth Printing. It may also be a BCE.
