Decree of the 23rd September, 1914." 5 ¼ x 8 ¼ paperback tract w/ 64 pages, in Good condition, NOT a library copy: yellowed, brittle, occasional chips, otherwise in tact, clear print, no marks other than old pricing. Heavy paper cover (black front, red back) = front lower right corner torn off; "Price Twopence" appears at bottom front; back is ad for another tract: "In the Trail of the German army…. illustrations, showing the destruction by the modern Huns in their raid on Belgium & France." Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a reporter for The Chronicle; David Lloyd George purchased the paper by proxy in 1918. Noted appraiser James Beattie has valued this book at $50.00.
