The authors consider the function of the gun and how it can be fully realized only in the hand of a man skilled at hitting the mark -- whether a paper target as in one article, a game animal or bird as in another, or a military enemy, an affronted gentleman, a horse opera villain, a monolithic law enforcer or a psychopathic law breaker in succeeding stories.
