Nelaon, 1886. Reprint. Hardcover. Very Good. William Rainey. 360pp, no dust wrapper, gift inscription dated 1888 to front paste down, no other inscriptions, illustrated, all plates and maps present. Slight rubbing, soiling and wear to red decorative boards especially top and bottom of spine but nothing significant, corners are slightly rubbed and bumped. Internally few signs of wear, hinges tight apart from one split towards the end of the text but pages are still tight, no turned over page corners, nice condition copy, just some very light spotting, gilding to edge of text block. Heavy book, please inquire for postage outside the UK.

London: T Nelson & Sons Ltd, 1893. No dustwrapper, some old damp-marking to blue boards, but gilt title panel on spine and black titles and decoration on spine and front board are all still clear. Some bumping to spine ends and corners, also some shelf-wear to bottom edge, school prize label dated 1898 on f/ep, but otherwise a good clean tight copy of this hard-cover book. The author's real name was Charlotte Maria Tucker, but she wrote as ''A.L.O.E.'' which was short for ''A Lady of England''. Originally published in 1869, a story with a strong Christian emphasis (like the author's many other works), set in the mid nineteenth century but taking its inspiration from the story of Daniel. 360pp, 35 b&w illustrations.. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

London: T Nelson & Sons Ltd, 1883. First Edition. Half Leather. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. xiipp; 360pp. 4pp of adverts. Half leather blue binding with light blue cloth boards. Gilt embossed design to the spine. Contains 35 engavings including a frontispiece. The edges of the spine are lightly rubbed as are the 5 bands on the spine. Toning to the periphery of the end papers. There is splitting to the inner hinge of the book between page vi and the contents page but the board remains firmly atttached and the textblock firm and tight. Odd slight soil mark to a few pages - however, overall the book is clean and tight. A very good copy of this antiquarian book.
