Seoul: Kavanaugh & Co., [1916]. Fifth edition, pp.26, 14 full-page illustrations. A very good copy in lightly soiled and creased original wrappers. John Kavanaugh (1866-1918) headed west from his native Kansas City to the California gold fields in 1895, and on to Korea in 1902 where he founded Kavanaugh & Company, general commission agents in Seoul and Chosen, "Curio dealers, real estate, & mine brokers. Goods packed & forwarded to all parts of the world". The first part of this small pamphlet provides a guide to Korea, before a general description of the kind of antiquities available, and a rough price list. The illustrations are presumably from his stock.
