Sticker scar on front, small chip to lower front foredge corner, rubbed spine, otherwise smooth vivid covers with clean illustrated interior 5.25 x 7.5" inches staplebound 16 pages recipes, illustrated. Spry, along with all the other industrialized shortenings to come out of WWII, is one of the worst catastrophes to ever afflict American cuisine and "Aunt Jenny" (unlike Betty Crocker) faded away into obscurity when the lesser evil of margarine overtook shortening in the 1970s. Undated circa 1940-1950, pure mid-century vintage americana.
