Heavily scuffed and creased covers with edge wear rubbed through on corners, soiled page edges, markings inside (I found two pen marks, there may be more) but very little in the 814 pages. Almost half the text consists of facsimiles. Several spine creases but the binding remains strong with no cracks or splits. Translated to Portuguese from English "State, Class and Organic Elite" originally presented as the author's thesis (doctoral--University of Glasgow, 1980). 3rd edition published in 1981.

Atheneum, 1972. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good/Good. Price clipped DJ is frayed at both ends of spine, showing tears and creasing on corners with vivid artwork. A few smudges on page edges but tightly bound almost new book despite pencil marks and marginalia in preface and first 30 pages.

Editora Paz e Terra, 1982. Soft cover. Poor. I love this book. I loved it so much I nearly destroyed it. The ripped, soiled, creased, frayed and worn wraps are nearly completely detached from the text block. Endpapers and page edges are foxed. Extensive underlining and marginalia throughout. Originally MA thesis at PUC/RJ but unlike most others, this was in the vein of the literary canon (Departamento de Letras) as opposed to ciencias sociais. Includes lyrics, BW photos, 222pp. Text in Portuguese, published in 1982. Readable but in a sorry state. Rare.
