New York, New York, U.S.A.: Press of the Woolly Whale, 1929. First Edition . Pamphlet. Very Good Minus. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. Issued April 1929 in a limited edition of 12 copies only. This is a pamphlet. 6 x 4.25 inches. 8 unnumbered pages of stiff blue card stock. The type used is Astrée and the paper Kochi. The semi-still wrapper consists of two sheets of textured silver paper, top and bottom, laminated on to a middle sheet of plain brown paper. Bound by the original string in unfaded medium blue and fully intact. Note that the laminated silver paper is peeling back somewhat at the corners but is fully present. Extremely scarce in any condition. A copy of this pamphlet resides in the Yale University archives for the Woolly Whale. The Press of the Woolly Whale was founded in 1928 by Melbert B. Cary, Jr. The author of this pamphlet was his mother. Companionship of Stars is among the earliest publications of the press.

Chester, England: John Seacome, Bookseller. Presumed First Edition . Buckram. Very Good. 32mo - over 4" - 5" tall. A fold-out map in booklet form, the booklet measuring about 4.25 x 4.25 inches. Undated but circa 1830. Presumed first edition but may be a later printing. The publisher, John Seacome, Bookseller, Chester, Engalnd, was active from approximately 1828 to 1836. Published by him in association with R. Groombridge, London. Olive drab buckram hardboards, with a handsome if age-yellowed title label to the front board, the pasted-on label with black lettering and ornament. Presumed contemporary binding but may be later. The map is a 12-section folded sheet, oblong, approximately 13 x 16 inches, backed onto stiff muslin or similar. Consists of a color map of the northern half of Wales. Appears to be hand-colored.
