Encyclopaedia of Psychic Science

By Nandor Fodor

London: Arthurs Press Limited, 1934. First edition. Hardcover. Good. 26 x 19 cm. Quarto. 415 pages of text plus 55 pages of photographs. The text pages are Red boards black lettering. SIGNED and inscribed by the author. With preface by Sir Oliver Lodge. Cracked joint between pages 208 and 209. Front gutter partial cracked. Yellowing to the text pages but not the photograph pages. Fodor originally embraced paranormal phenomena but by the 1940's he advocated a more psychoanalytic approach to psychic phenomena. This was his magnum opus taking several years to research and publish. From the introduction: "Psychic science embraces both psychical research and psiritualism. The facts championed by the spiritualist differ but in their interpretation from those we meet in psychical research. Basically they are the same, though in spiritualistic experience they steep deeper into the marvellous. To the facts of psychical research, by the exercise of great care, I added, from books and periodicals, many strange accounts which seem to rest on good authority though, from the experimental viewpoint, wanting in evidential value. For only by so doing could I hope to illuminate the full domain of this coming science."

Theorems of Occult Magick Volume 1 2 3 4 set

By Mark Feldman and Ron Parshley

Methuen, Mass: P-F Publications, 1971. First edition. Paperback. Very Good. Four volume set. Volume 1: Magical Theories of the Universe, Volume 2: Principles of Ritual the Formulae of the Elemental Weapons, Volume 3: The Formulae of Tetragrammaton, Alhim, Alim, & I.A.O. Volume 4: The Formulae of the Neophyte, The Holy Graap & The Magical Memory. 110 pages with continuous numbering through the pamphlets as well as ads in rear. Staple bound pamphlets. A Study of the Teachings of Aleister Crowley. Includes a typed letter and some notes from the former owner, Carl Weschcke, founder of Llewellyn Publications, to one of the authors of the pamphlets, Mark Feldman. The letter discusses "Astrology Study Reek", an astrology workshop as well as an publication entitled Astrology Now. There are additionally some hand written notes. In the pamphlets there is some pencil "bracketing" and some pen grammer and spelling corrections by Weschcke in volume 1 only. 10 volumes were planned but it does not appear that the others were ever published. Judging by the notes, Mark Feldman was trying to have Llewellyn publish the whole series, a notes stateing simply "No decision". regarding the booklets and lack of any references to other volumes elsewhere means it is likely that this is complete as published in 4 volumes.
