Cernan is also one of only three men to circle the Moon on more than one flight (Apollo X and XVII), and only two who circled the moon, and later landed on the Moon. (Jim Lovell flew on Apollo VIII, and was due to land on aborted mission Apollo XIII. John Young flew with Cernan on Apollo X, and later landed on Apollo XVI).
