Hardcover bound in 3/4 red morocco and red silk (?) cloth covered boards. Leather spine is rubbed and has gilt designs in the panels. Moderate wear to the binding, which is still sound. Some rubbing and bumping to the binding with a bit of scuffing to the leather. There is an abrasion to the headcap and a pale scuff mark on the top panel near the headcap. There is some damping in the margins at the gutter near the top edge of the pages with the plates. This does not seem to affect the surrounding pages, although it occasional touches some of the images. A sound copy with wide margins (prior owner's 1944 signature on the front flyleaf). #154 of 175 copies. Beautiful black and white drawings (mostly stylish nudes) by Donald Denton. This edition is different from other more common 1928 Limited Editions of Louys' Aphrodite. The Denton illustrations are far superior to the Todhunter drawings and others.
