Hardcover Book in Good Condition with a Very Good Dust Jacket with mylar cover. Based on the Personal Recollections of Giacomo Manzu. A moving story of two remarkable people-the communist artist who had lost his faith and his good friend, Pope John XIII. The book is missing the endpaper, otherwise in Very Good Condition. Beautifully illustrated by Giacomo Manzu, one of the greatest sculptors of the 20th century, with four pages of full color illustrations that include both painting and sculpture of Pope John and thirty-two pages of monochrome photographs. Light tan half cloth, gilt titled with taupe cloth over boards, very clean and unmarked, tight and solid binding. Front free endpaper is missing. Book begins with the four full color illustrations of Pope John. The interior is very clean, no markings. The only defect is the missing ffep. Clean jacket has small chipping of spine head, otherwise slight edgewear. 249 pages. 6.5 x 9.5 inches. 1968, Madison Square Press/Grosset & Dunlap Pub, New York, New York U.S.A.
