A very nice copy of the 1992 edition of Grant's book, in near fine condition with a very good dust jacket. Grant's excellent examination of Crowley's desire to free man from bondage by showing how to invoke his latent genius, his Hidden God. This is a detailed study of Crowley's sexual magick and esoteric rituals. This is a very good copy. Pages are clean and bright, with no markings or inscriptions at all, and uncommon thus. A little natural tanning on pastedown and FEP, otherwise pages are excellent. One illustration has a tiny extra piece of paper on corner (printing error). All the excellent illustrations are intact. Binding is tight. DJ is unclipped and very good, clean and unfaded, just a little rubbing, and minor shelfwear at top. Rare to see this edition in such good condition. A very nice copy of this compilation edition of two renowned British occult writer Butler's books. Butler studied with Annie Besant and Dion Fortune amongst others, and these books continue a theme of his around liberating what he saw as our innate magical powers. A fascinating collectors' item from the 'Grand Maistre of English Occultism'. Pages have tanning, most especially at edges but other than that are excellent: no markings, no underlining and no inscriptions at all. NOT an ex library book. Boards are clean and binding tight. Charles Webster Leadbeater's summary of the 'astral plane' of Theosophy. Part of the Theosophical Manuals series and the partner of his mental plane book (Manual no 6). A lovely copy of the 1900 3rd edition. Pages are clean and unmarked just the most minor expected age wearing. Covers are firm, just a very minor crumpling on spine top and corners. Sepharial was the nom de plume of Theosophist and Astrologer Walter Gorn Old. This is one of his influential books on the topic. This is the revised and enlarged edition presumably of 1913. The spine cover is unstuck, though present (see photo) and eminently re attachable. Apart from that this is a very nice copy: no inscriptions and in very good condition. Despite spine board detached the binding is firm. Some age related crumpling to corners. We have listed the book as 'good' only due to spine, but other wise VG. A very nice copy (Near Fine / G +) of the vanishingly rare true first edition (1954) of H C Randall-Stevens' most well known work, complete with unclipped dust jacket and with the rare foldout present and complete. Randall-Stevens was a British singer and war veteran, who went on to found an esoteric order known as The Knights Templar of Aquarius. In the 1920s he claimed that he began receiving psychic voices. This is perhaps his most popular book, focusing on Egypt as a colony of Atlantis, and the notion that the initiation temples sacred to Osiris were hidden under the Sphinx. A classic occult work! This first edition is very rare, especially in this condition and with the DJ. Pages have no markings or inscriptions at all and remain clean and bright. A nice copy of Mary Oldfield Howey's examination of the status of the cat in religion and magic over time. Undated but assumed 1929-1930. Pages are overwhelmingly clean and bright, just with spotting on FEP and some slight residue of a damp stain(?) which has left the colour frontis marginally stained at top and a little unstuck at base. However colour picture is still bright and clean (see photo). Residue stain on top of text block (see photo). All other pages very bright and clear, and no inscriptions from previous owners present. Original purple book mark strip is present and intact. Binding is firm. Boards are a little scuffed and are marked (see photos)with some blotches, and the spine a bit darkened. A nice copy of Ida Ellis's book on 'chirognomy and chiromancy explained in the form of question and answer'. This is the 'extensively revised and enlarged' third edition from 1918. Pages are very good: a little minor scattered foxing here and there but pages are overwhelmingly clear and bright with no markings or inscriptions at all. Light brownsih strip on FEP. A lovely copy of Cheiro's famous Book of Numbers based on Chaldean Numerology, in a great DJ. This is the ninth impression, date unknown but probably c 1950. Pages are wonderful: the lightest of foxing spots here and there on the fore and top edge but otherwise bright and clear with no marks or inscriptions at all. FEP has slightly darkened band. Pages are tight and spine has no give. DJ is excellent: price clipped but otherwise just some small shelf and age wear here and there. DJ retains its lovely yellow colour. McNally was a Professor of East European history at Boston College who specialised in books about horror, and researched the origins of the Dracula legend. Here he focuses on the story of Countess Elizabeth Bathory, the ancient 'vampire' of Transylvania who was reputed to have murdered hundreds of young women in the belief that their blood would keep her young. He looks to separate the known facts from the legend. A fascinating work. A really nice copy in nr Fine condition. Pages are bright and clean with no markings or inscriptions, only a very neat stamp from a previous owner on the title page. Otherwise perhaps read just once. Well known Canadian mystic, author and astrologer Hall here looks at the core underpinning aspects of philosophy, in a work whose subtitle is the 'direction of mental activity in the science of perfection'! This is a very nice copy of the 2nd (enlarged) edition of 1949. Pages are remarkably crisp and bright, by far the best we have seen in this edition.
