Description:
Red Cloth boards, 102 colour plates, 88 Black and White illustrations. OVERSIZE - approximately 10 x 8.5 and 3.12 pounds. I believe this is a First Edition but it is not stated on the copyright page which only has copyright 1988 The Trustees of the British Museum and published by British Museum Publications Limited. The ISBN on the Copyright page is 0714116233. The following is from the Dust Jacket : 'The First complete publication in colour of a spectacular album of one hundred and two miniatures by the Dutch seventeenth-century artist, Adriaen van de Venne (1589 - 1662). Executed in 1626, the album, as is argued in this book, was almost certainly a private gift to the Prince of Orange, Frederik Hendrik, from the "Winter King and Queen" of Bohemia and occupies a key position in Dutch art, culture and politics during the country's "Golden Age."Oversize books may require adjusted shipping costs for the weight of the item.

Germany: efl-edition freier literaten, 1992. Stated First Edition. Soft Cover. Near Fine. This collection of diverse paintings takes you on an artistic journey from the South Pacific, through South-East Asia and Nepal, to Central Europe, and finally Egypt. With their astonishing variety of color, line and composition, these square watercolor paintings (reproduced here in their original size) can be viewed as a string of colorful beads encircling our planet. Born and educated in Europe, Dieter Tremp moved to San Francisco in 1986. As an initial way to make ends meet, he painted watercolor miniatures of the Pacific coast, and sold them through a gallery on Nob Hill. After focusing on large-scale acrylic painting, he later returned to miniatures for his Drawn Around the World series. In 1991 he packed his backpack for the long westward journey around the globe, documented in this book. 53 color reproductions. Book is near fine with mild edge wear. Lower spine has a tiny closed tear. Mild surface… Read More
