Edinburgh, 1753. First Edition Thus, Carefully Corrected. Bound in full leather bindings. These are the original 18th century bindings. Raised hubs. Printed on quality rag paper. Approximately 9+ inches of shelf space. 7 inches tall. In Good condition. The hinges are all attached, although some starting, with archival restoration. Printed on quality paper. Some foxing. Tightly bound and complete. Some general wear/rubs, some labels lacking. An early inscription and bookplate. A nice antiquarian set of the Spectator from the 18th century. The Spectator was an important literary magazine from the 1700's, and an important addition to any antiquarian collection. According to Dibdin, not to possess the works of Addison is a misdemeanor.
