Possible first issue of this punk fanzine using the DIY aesthetic of the genre effectively to present pieces on the Screamers, Crime, the Nuns, Avengers, the Damned and others. With photographs by James Stark, a pioneer photographer of the San Francisco punk scene. GOOD condition. Mostly minor browning, a bit heavier along the extremities. Minor soiling. Oblong format, MISSING original wrappers. 21 pp. Illustrations in brown and white, with 6 color plates. A rendition of a children's rhyme, illustrated by Randolph Caldecott. POOR condition, MISSING wrappers. Moderate foxing to the outer pages, with moderate toning, minor soiling and faint dampstaining along the fore edge. Several bumps, chips, creases and tears along the extremities. Scattered soiling in the interior.

A story presumably for a juvenile audience, following the title protagonists on their extended stay in Gibraltar. By Anne Marsh Caldwell, a popular Victorian era novelist in England. VERY GOOD condition. Minor fading. Some scuffing, fraying and bumping along the extremities. Owner's inscription on the first endpaper. Minor toning to the text block.

Front cover bears a large illustration of Raggedy Andy with a smaller boxed illustration of Raggedy Ann. 5 pp. Sheet music and lyrics for 'In Love With Love.' Notable perhaps for the Raggedy Ann and Andy association. GOOD+ condition. Minor curling and a few creases to the covers. Uneven fading and minor toning. Some scuffing and minor soiling.

An exhaustive critical history and survey of the art of Ukiyo-e painting that emerged in Edo (Tokyo) Japan in the 1600s. Six essays examine the art, its significance to Japanese culture, and noted artists, including Hokusai, Hiroshige and Utamaro. VERY GOOD condition. Minor fading, scuffing and edgewear to the jacket, with a few dark scuffs to the upper rear edge. Minor fading to the book, with some bumping to the extremities.

A monograph on the life and work of Japanese artist Hokusai, containing several critical essays as well as considerations of his work in context of the culture of Japan. VERY GOOD jacket on a GOOD book. Minor fading, scuffing and edgewear to the jacket. Old price sticker to the lower rear jacket corner. Minor fading to the book, with a bump/indent to the lower front cover edge. Tiny stain to the lower page edges.

Single issue of this magazine written for a juvenile audience. Of note in this issue is an article on baseball, basic rules and how to play, accompanied by illustrations. This is the first of several papers that appeared in St. Nicholas. Written by Walter Camp, an athlete, coach and writer known for his many contributions to the shaping of American football into the way it is played today. Also present is an illustrated article on travels in Central Africa, etc. GOOD+ condition. Minor toning, soiling and staining to the covers. Heavy chipping and tearing to the covers along the lower edge. Minor toning and soiling in the interior.

A single issue of this science fiction magazine featuring work by John W. Campbell, Ross Rocklynne, Jack Williamson, Frank Belknap Long and others. FAIR condition. Front cover with several large creases, as well as extensive tape repairs to the inside, with some tape repairs present to the head and tail of the spine. Two large chips missing from the front cover, with minor chipping and tearing along the extremities. Spine chipped and worn along the hinges. Minor soiling and general browning present, heavier to the rear. Several small dampstains present. 10 in pencil to the center front cover. Text block solid but browned, with a few minor scattered dampstains.

A literary journal featuring essays, poems, etc. This issue includes a piece by Albert Camus, "The Artist in Prison," musing on the life and work of Oscar Wilde and the effects of imprisonment on his spirit. Also present poetry by Marianne Moore and a short piece by Stephen Spender. In VERY GOOD condition. Minor browning along the spine, with otherwise uneven minor darkening. Minor soiling and edgewear. Minor creasing along the extremities. The letter d written in pencil at the upper right corner. Interior clean and solid.

A visual record of wall stencils found in homes in the Blue Hill region of Maine, giving names of the homes as well as dates. VERY GOOD condition. Minor curling and wrinkling to the covers, with a hint of soiling.

A collection of poetry by Josiah Dean Canning, reflecting on life in the Connecticut River region of Massachusetts, including that of his hometown of Gill. This includes pieces on the disappearing Native American and their way of life, farming and its rituals, nature of the Connecticut River region, etc. Josiah Dean Canning (born Cannon) was a printer before becoming a farmer, with his work reflecting on farming life, as well as Native Americans and what their disappearance portends for the white man (see Encyclopedia of American Poetry: The Nineteenth Century). VERY GOOD condition. Minor fading and edgewear. Light toning to the paper.

Single issue of this long running magazine devoted to current trends in literature and art. This with "Master Misery" by Truman Capote, "Epilogue on my Host the World," by George Santayana, etc. GOOD condition. Moderate uneven fading to the wrappers, with minor soiling. Some curling at the corners. Text block toned.

This includes looks at the art of Edward Hopper, Georgia O'Keeffe, Alfred Stieglitz, Walker Evans and many other artists, photographers and poets. VERY GOOD+ condition. Minor rubbing and edgewear.
