Opnieuw gebonden half Perkament, 4° Henricus Caesarius (Hendrik de Keijzer), geboren te Zaltbommel, was in zijn jeugd Rooms-Katholiek opgevoed maar op zijn zestiende of zeventiende jaar bekend geworden en geraakt door de Hervormde leer en daartoe overgegaan. Hij was sinds 1570 Rector van de Latijnse School in Zaltbommel en vanaf September 1577 predikant in Dordrecht. Daarna diende hij nog de gemeenten van Schoonhoven en Utrecht waar hij in 1625 overleed.

Opnieuw gebonden Leer met ribben, 8° (Boekblok licht gebruind en wat gevlekt in de marges, de grote uitvouwbare gravure van het kruis (op ware grote) is ingescheurd en geplakt. Curieus boek over het 'Sacrament van Mirakel' door de Brusselse kanunnik Petrus de Cafmeyer (ca.1685-1741). Het werk verhaalt het anti-semitische voorval wat in 1370 te Brussel plaatsvond waarbij Joden werden beschuldigd van het ontwijden van hosties door deze te doorsteken met messen. Er zou hierdoor bloed zijn opgeweld uit de hosties en de gemoederen liepen hoog op wat resulteerde in de terechtstelling van 6 Joden op de brandstapel. Geïllustreerd met 18 enkele gravures, 9 uitvouwbare gravures en enkele gravures in de tekst.)

Elisa Capitein. Jacobus Elisa Johannes Capitein, 1717 – 1747, was de eerste in Holland opgeleide zwarte predikant. Hoewel hij zelf een voormalig slaaf was, verdedigde hij in een academische verhandeling dat christenen in slavernij mochten worden gehouden (!). Hij werkte als WIC-dominee in Elmina, Ghana. Hij vertaalde ook het Gebed des Heeren en de Tien geboden in de West-Afrikaanse Fante-taal. (Het hele werk vochtvlekkig. Het tweede werk mist de titelpagina en drie pag. van de voorrede)

Presented atop a walnut tripod stand with brass casters, with a glass-topped compass, mounted between three cross stretchers. Measuring 52"" x 28"" (132 x 71 cm.) in total. By John and William Cary (1754-1835 and 1759-1825) of London. Engraved and hand-colored. The papier-mache copperplate gores have been cleaned and re-varnished, which have served to bring back to life the glorious original hand colouring. The Cary brothers were renowned creators of precision instruments, and their globes were widely regarded as the very finest that England had to offer in the Georgian/Regency period. The celestial globe reads: ""Cary's New Celestial Globe. On which are laid down the whole of the stars nebulae &c. contained in the astronomical works of the Revd. F. Wollaston F.R.S. Explanation of the whole book of Job, the Dutch edition only has the first seven chapters. Joseph Caryl, 1602-1673, Westminster Divine and a puritan. He preached before the English parliament, mainly on official days of fasting. Caryl spent 33 years preaching through every verse of Job and expounding the whole book. It's the best and most exhaustive work on the book of Job.

His printer's mark had been two horses.
