Porvoo, Finland: Werner Soderstrom. Very Good. 1912. Hardcover. Decoratively printed on heavy cardstock portfolio measuring 9 3/8" by 12" containing twelve (12) large folded textile patterns. Stamp on outer flap of portfolio "Printed in Finland." Small booksellers label "Craft & Hobby Books / 640 Grace St. / Monterey, Calif." Two printed sheets laid-in: a list of the patterns (in Finnish on obverse and Swedish on recto) and a color chart (to which the patterns are keyed). In addition there are two thread cards laid in - one with thirty (30) samples of a more fine gage thread (silk or cotton) and the other with forty-seven (47) samples of a thicker gage yarn. Date is approximate; Experience the pleasure of reading and appreciating this actual printed item. It has its own physical history that imbues it with a character lacking in ephemeral electronic renderings. .
