Lorca's poems (in Spanish Romancero gitano) were written in 1928 and consists of eighteen romances with subjects like the night, death, the sky, and the moon. All of the poems deal with the Romani people and their culture, used by Lorca as a theme used to carry the larger message that the poet was trying to convey. The sixth volume in the Collection de Chansons et de Contes Populaires series published by Leroux, this book contains the Singhasan Battisi, a collection of 32 Indian folk tales in which the 11th century king Bhoja discovers the throne of the legendary ancient king Vikramaditya . The throne has 32 statues, who are actually apsaras (a female spirit) that had been turned into stone due to a curse. Each of the apsaras tells Bhoja a story about the life and adventures of Vikramaditya, in order to convince him that he is not deserving of Vikramaditya's throne. Condition: A good copy. The binding has some light blotchy fading to the boards but the contents are in good order. The inner binding is secure and the pages clean bar some browning to the margins.

Paperback, with stapled binding. 26.5 × 21cm, 65pp. A rare English stage adaptation of De Rojas' fifteenth century classic of Spanish literature, Celestina (Tragicomedia de Calisto y Melibea). The story tells of a bachelor, Calisto, who uses the old procuress and bawd Celestina to start an affair with Melibea, an unmarried girl kept in seclusion by her parents. It was originally published in dialogue form and is here translated into English and written for stage by Spanish academic, David Castillejo. Condition: There is a little light wear to the covers but otherwise this is in very good condition.

A long poem from James Flitton, which is described in the preface thus "the author of this poem has endeavoured to place before the present generation one or two phases of English life and custom 'sixty years ago', when the machinery of society was not at such high pressure, and life was living to exist and enjoy a happy and rational state of being." Condition: Good condition. The book is in strong readable condition, but the front hinge is cracked and a little loose though not detached.
