First twenty four volumes of Fores's Sporting Notes and Sketches, focusing mainly on horseback riding and racing, along with some other sports. Attractive illustrated plates throughout, thirty two in each volume, in a charcoal sketch style; also with photographic plates. Foxing to some preliminaries. Front hinge of Volume I and XII is cracked but holding well, and the top of the front joint of Vol. XXIII is discretely repaired by a conservator. The spines are sunned and faded, though the decorated front boards are generally quite bright. Silverfishing to some of the volumes. Red cloth, decorated in gilt and black. All edges gilt. Generally in Very Good condition. Very Good binding.
