He was an Indian fighter, statesman in the Republic of Texas serving as vice president and political foe of Sam Houston. He was best known as the commanding general at the Siege of Bexar in 1835 and second in command to Sam Houston at the Battle of San Jacinto. Scarce. Jenkins died before his ideas for this book were completed. Texas author and historian Ken Kesselus, rescued it from oblivion, did the research and wrote the final book.
