This long narrative poem was written in Nirvana, Michigan and the author sought to provide "characters of high moral standing. " I presume this is also set in Michigan as reference is made in the preface to the statement "to found fiction in our own vicinity. " Nirvana was a lumbering town in Lake County, Michigan, but it no longer exists. This is the original edition released in tan printed wrappers in 1883. An uncommon item.
