The Owyhee Desert ecoregion, within the deserts and xeric shrublands biome, is in the Northwestern United States.  An arid region of canyons, volcanic rock, sagebrush and grass, the desert is in northern Nevada, southwestern Idaho and southeastern Oregon, from the south edge of the Columbia Plateau southwest of Boise, Idaho and stretching east from the Santa Rosa Range.  The book is an interesting and informative account, drawn from the author's own observations and research, of the history of the Owyhee Desert, its animals, plants, geological and climatic features as well as its people.  Fine in tan cloth with red titles on the spine and front cover.  No marks or damage at all.  The unclipped DJ is unfaded and shows just very slight edge wear.  Overall, an unusually nice copy for a book of this vintage. .
