Really quite a nice looking book except for that one stain. Narsai's was located in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 70s and 80s. On Monday nights, they featured a prix fixe menu, and this book grew out of that popular experience. This is the third printing. 381 pages including index. Kent, Washington: Valley Publishing Co, 1980. A nice addition to a collection of memorabilia from the 1980 explosion of Mt. St. Helens in Washington. This is a 16 page special issue, illustrated with color and black-and-white photos, published soon after the explosion but long enough to know the cost in lives and property. Very good shape considering the medium (newsprint), with wear at the folds and browning of the paper. It has been folded into quarters, and the worst wear is at the center where those folds cross.. Nisbet was a notable Dickens scholar, and this book grew out of her work on another book about Dickens during which she uncovered documents which led her to reevaluate Dickens' relationship with this young actress. 89 pages with a foreword by Edmund Wilson. Something of the tone of the writing--fact-based rather than sensationalist--is indicated by the title of the first and last sections: "Household Saint' and "Decanonization"!. 1st Edition.
