This is a nice pocket Book of Common Prayer, dating back to 1766. It is in good antiquarian condition, leather covers rubbed, front cover detaching, interior there is a modern owner bookplate, pages have been trimmed very closely with occasionally some loss of a few letters at the edge, obviously used but not abused. Plates are crisp and lovely - and include not only biblical events but also a plate of Guy Fawkes. A number of the Bentham editions do not contain engravings, but this one does. ; 16mo 6" - 7" tall .

Handsomely library bound in black buckram with bright gilt to spine, covers are clean and nice. Interior end papers have signature of James H. Rodolph who seems to have been on the board of directors of a cemetery in Charleston in the 1920s. End papers and blanks renewed. Title is missing. First text page of the book is the opening of the List, starting with Abrahams, A.H. who owned $3,000 worth of real estate and paid $45 in taxes. This page is very foxed, corners repaired, hole in page not affecting text repaired with tape, page remounted. Next few pages are very foxed with some staining, small hole. Foxing and staining taper off a bit until page 25 when there is moderate foxing throughout with occasional heavy foxing.
