Crimson cloth boards, decorated gilt titles and design to spine, gilt rules, title and embossed gilt motif. pp. xxiii, 331 + 7, pub's adverts. With an armorial bookplate affixed to first blank, inscribed, "To Lee [?] Mirehouse from Mr Frederick Ingle, Christmas 1901." Almost certainly Frederick Ingle (1839-1912), a high profile architect who died leaving a large estate part of which continues to be run as the Frederick Ingle Charitable Trust. The plate has left an offset to the facing tp. Front hinge loose, former library label to front pastedown, library call number to base of spine, rubs to front cover edges. Pages browned, else a decent, clean copy.

The complete set of this landmark account of the war in North America and Canada between the French and British and considered by Parkman to be his masterpiece. 8vo. Published the year after the first British edition by the publisher in 1884. Two vols in original drab olive cloth, gilt titles to spine, dark chocolate endpapers, top edges gilt. V. I: b&w frontis portrait, Montcalm. pp. xvi, 514, w/ all maps and charts. Page edges slightly spotted, else a fine copy. V. II: pp. x, 502, b&w frontis. Wolfe. A damp stain to lower margin of first few prelims, else a VG or better copy. Neither books are marked or inscribed and are very well kept, firm copies with light use only.

Lge 4to, 11-1/2" x 8-1/2". pp. 96. “Photography is perhaps the most democratic form of human expression second only to dance,” notes Parr in the accompanying essay. In irridescent rainbow hued stiff wraps, all page edges silvered. Signed and dated 2009 by Parr to the title page. Some minor signs of handling but essentially as new. With the signature style of social insight and wit that typifies Parr in a selection that spans the past 35 years.

With the trademark supersaturated full bleed colour images, of hum drum consumer lifestyle, from food close ups, to tattoos and low rent fashion. Signed and inscribed by Parr to the first page, and dated Part Eliot, 2005, for the literary festival where Parr gave a talk on his photography.

Taylor - possibly the English idealist philosopher, (1869-1945). A shadow, likely from a removed ex libris label, to front pastedown. Rubbed to spine ends and tips, joints slightly rubbed, minor spine lean, short crack to gutter of rear endpaper - not to joint. A well read copy, but the plates in fine condition, bright and fresh with unfoxed tissue guards. Binding firm, pages clean and unmarked, overall a sound copy. Paris: J J Pauvert; Comite D'Action, 2ème trimestre 1968. First issue. Newspaper. Very good. 31cm x 23cm. In 2 folded sheets. A satirical newspaper launched in May 1968 to comment on Les évènements, inspired by the anarchist movements of the time. With a drawing by [Georges] Wolinski (1934-2015), leading French cartoonist, and co-founder of L'Enragé. He died in the terrorist attack of January 2015 against the staff of French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo. A number of captions echo well known slogans from the time, such as "Ce journal est un pavé" and "Prenez vos désirs pour des réalités". Some minor edgewear, pages a little toned, but a very nice copy, very well kept.
